I'm taking you up on that no weekly email thing! This is just a note. Things are going really well. The work has slowed down a bit, which is always a bit of a bummer, but also needed! I'm really trying to take your advice and just savor this time I have. I love you both so much and can't wait to see you. That said, I promise I'm not checking out early, nor am I trunky. It was way too short for that!!

Wasn't conference just great? Every time something starts to bug me, they fix it! What's next, women as keynote speakers??? I had a little hope they would extend sister missions...but they didn't! 

I love you both. Thank you, thank you for making this possible for me. I hope I'm even a little different. I have been so grateful for this. If you could pray for one more thing, please pray that these sweet people will able to get a few things straightened out and will be able to have lessons so we can really figure out where they are at before a new sister comes in. Lots of love!

Hi all! It was rain, rain, rain all last week and I think Hna Ciarlante and I were the only two people in Desert Hot Springs who loved it. The water doesn't run off the streets very well, which makes for great puddles!  It was crazy how the desert drank it all up, and everything suddenly turned so green. I hope that's how the message of the gospel feels to people when we first teach it; I hope it feels like a big drink of water after a long, long time.  One of the best moments of this week was teaching Diana, Juana's granddaughter. We've been trying to have a lesson with her forever, but she's been reluctant and I never felt that she was very interested. We didn't give up, though, and boy am I glad. Diana is a single mom no older than I am, and she works full time. Her little boy isn't quite a year yet, and likes to screech and smile really wide and break china. November 5, 2018 Windmills, Cacti, and Sunsets

Hi all!  I don't have much time this week, and I'm not sure how much of this you'll even want to send out, but I figure if I don't have a neat and tidy group email every week it's ok. It's probably more important that you hear from me and know everything that's going on. I had a lot of little people to respond to today (I usually wait at least a week just so I don't set the expectation of replying right away when sometimes I can't) especially because Jesse's having a rough time and I needed to make sure I wrote to him. Poor guy, his support system is kind of gone. Hna Watkins is too busy to send him bug emogis and he's distraught! She's doing her best!  The desert is just beautiful. I really feel so lucky. Every day the mountains change shades of blue. There's windmills too--the big white ones and they stretch far out across the desert. April 1, 2019 Hasta La Vista Rama Agua Caliente!

Hi All!  I wake up pretty frequently in the middle of the night, and usually just wait until I drift off again. The other night, around 3 in the morning, I was just dozing off again when Hermana Ballard started talking. Actually praying. In clear, fairly loud Spanish. She even closed and said "Amen." Then the coyotes started howling... so it was a crazy night! She was pleased as punch with herself when I told her the next day. I guess you know you're a good missionary when you start praying in your sleep??  We found out last night I'll be transferred and heading down to Thermal to be with the Hermana Alvarado; Thermal is further South and even hotter. It's date season down there, and many of the people there work in the fields. I'm pretty excited! Hermana Ballard will be receiving two more Hermanas here, and they're pretty lucky!
